I still haven’t sorted out my photos from our trip to Europe. We’ve been home for 2 months now and I just haven’t been bothered to do it. (I did cull a lot of photos while we were over there and put a fair few photos on Facebook though so I feel like that makes it a bit better).
I really should sort out my travel photos and I figured that while I commence sorting through them I would write some posts on where we went, what we saw and share some photos from our time away.
This was my ‘lifelong dream’ trip. I have wanted to go to Europe for as long as I can remember. It was just always something I had to do. And because I’m
a massive dork super cool, I wanted to go to lots of museums and other ‘boring places’ which narrowed the field of who I could go to Europe with. Friends are understanding, but not necessarily that understanding for an extended overseas trip.
I was lucky that when I met my husband he had the same interests as me and wanted to visit Europe. He had already been to Europe a couple of times (he lived in England for a year which made it a bit easier) so when it came time to plan our own trip we wanted to make sure we did some new things for him even though we went to a lot of places he had already been.
We went to eight countries in seven and a half weeks. We had a car the whole time we were on the continent (so a bit over 6 weeks) and drove everywhere (well, Stu drove). We flew in and out of London Heathrow and caught the Eurostar between London and Paris at the start and end of the trip. It was an amazing trip (if slightly too long by about a week) and I’m so glad that I got to experience Europe with my darling husband.
While we were there, we went to:
England (London and Cambridge)
France (Paris, Amiens (and battlefields), Lyon, Amboise and Normandy)
Czech Republic (Prague and Cesky Krumlov)
Austria (Vienna and Salzburg)
Italy (Venice, Pesaro, Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence and La Spezia)
I’ll probably end up doing a post on each of the places we went to, so stay tuned for a series of posts on our travels over the next few weeks (and hopefully saying this will now motivate me to sort out my photos!)
Have you been to Europe before? Did you take forever to sort out your photos like me?
Is there anything in particular you want to know about any of the places we visited?
