Let’s get straight into Week 2 of the Style Dare:
Day 8: Going straight
I went ‘straight’ with a straight up, classic work look: white top and black pencil skirt. I also had straightened my hair on the weekend so that worked well! I’m a big fan of simple monochrome for work (something which will become evident as you keep looking at my photos, especially this week!).
Day 9: Wooden
I don’t have a lot of wooden jewellery but I do have this lovely bracelet from Elk Accessories my sister-in-law bought me for Christmas. I really like the wood with the floral – very nature inspired!
Day 10: Safari
Another thing I don’t have a lot of – animal print! I bought this snow leopard print from Witchery 2.5 years ago and I love it! It’s a really interesting cut and shows how neutral leopard print can really be. Fun bonus, the lining of my Zara trench coat is also leopard print!
Day 11: Ladylike
I went with a white lace pencil skirt, red lipstick, pearls and diamonds for this prompt. I love this skirt, it’s so beautiful. I picked it up in Prague (I think, somewhere in Europe at any rate) at a store called New Look. My rings are my wedding set which I absolutely love, and a pearl ring by a local designer (Lana Designs) which Stu bought for me quite early on in our relationship. The earrings I’m wearing are my wedding earrings, and this was the first time I have worn them since our wedding! My lipstick is Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square – one of my faves!
Day 12: Check it out
This top is from Witchery, one of the many sheer Witchery tops I have and I really love it. I don’t really have any other checked or plaid clothing, but I love the black and white wide checked pattern in this top.
It was at this point I realised that I wear a lot of black and white to work and pose exact the same way every day at work!!
Day 13: Fresh face
An easy one for me! I try to avoid wearing makeup on weekends to give my skin a break (also because I can’t really be bothered with makeup if I’m not doing anything special). This picture was taken in out front garden after finishing an Xtend Barre workout before I got into the gardening and weeding.
Day 14: Lazy chic
Jeans (with a bit of give) and a top that looks fancier than it is – is there anything better? It is the easiest way to look nice but still be comfortable! I did housework, grocery shopping and went out to lunch in this outfit – definitely versatile!
I had a few fringe issues this week – I definitely need to drop into my hairdresser for a fringe trim!!
