I’ve been seeing lots of bloggers ‘taking stock’ which started with Pip from Meet Me at Mikes and thought I would give it a go. It’s all about taking a little bit of time to examine where you’re at and what you’re doing, so I’ve taken some time to ‘take stock’ for October.
Making: plans for Christmas (I love it!!)
Cooking: more baking than cooking, but I made an ombre pink cake for my work Pink Ribbon morning tea today (recipe coming this Wednesday!)
Drinking: a dirty chai with soy milk, my new coffee of choice! (It’s a chai latte with a shot of coffee if you haven’t heard of a dirty chai)
Reading: The Lady of the Rivers – I’m up to the fifth of six books of The White Queen series I’ve been reading. The blog is stealing a bit of my usual reading time so it’s taking me longer than usual to get through this series.
Wanting: a holiday!
Looking: for good Christmas presents. My husband is the hardest man in the world to buy for!
Playing: the waiting game
Deciding: whether or not to apply for a job has to be one of the hardest things I’ve done lately!!
Wishing: there were more hours in the day, and a higher proportion of weekends to weekdays
Enjoying: the warmer weather
Waiting: for an appropriate time to put up our Christmas tree
Liking: Gone Girl. I finally went and saw the movie last week, it was so good! I want to reread to book now.
Wondering: when I’ll get my car back from the mechanic. We’re onto day 15!
Loving: discovering so many new blogs
Pondering: where I want to go in my career
Considering: chopping my hair into a bob again. But I’m committed to growing it I think…
Watching: Revenge. We just binge watched three seasons over the last couple of weeks.
Hoping: that this summer isn’t too unbearably hot (I’m not a fan of the hot weather!)
Marvelling: at how the garden is different every day, always something new coming up! This is only our second spring here so we’re still getting to know the garden.
Needing: more sleep. I’ve gotten into a really bad habit of staying up late blogging instead of going to bed at a decent hour and I’m paying the price!
Smelling: our beautiful garden in full bloom. The roses started coming out on the weekend!
Wearing: light cotton dresses on weekends thanks to the warmer weather. I wish I could wear light dresses every day but work calls for a slightly more corporate look. I’m wearing pink today for Pink Ribbon Day.
Following: the white rabbit down a Pinterest hole. Seriously, it’s addictive (and time goes surprisingly quickly)
Noticing: how many people I know are having babies! It always comes in waves I think.
Knowing: not a lot. The older I get the more I realise I don’t know anything.
Thinking: that sometimes I feel like a bit of a fraud being a grown up. Sometimes I can’t believe I’m allowed to be an adult with a marriage and a mortgage and a job!
Admiring: people that can get up early and exercise. I just can’t do it!
Sorting: out one of our spare rooms getting ready for painting and furniture moving
Buying: not a lot at the moment!! The last interesting thing (i.e. not groceries or petrol) I bought lately would have to be some new workout gear a couple of weeks ago
Getting: more toned thanks to Xtend Barre. I’ve been wearing some dresses I bought in Europe and they are noticeably looser on me now.
Bookmarking: my books with a piece of paper at the moment because I’ve misplaced all my bookmarks!
Disliking: hayfever. Canberra really is horrible for allergies, and I never really had it bad before I moved here!
Opening: a never ending inbox of emails, they are like a hydra, read one and two more take its place!! But seriously, you can send me emails. I like getting fun, non-work related emails!
Giggling: at anything with a double entendre when I am near my husband. He has given me the dirtiest mind! (Mum, don’t think about that one too hard please)
Feeling: content with life at the moment
Snacking: either yoghurt or mixed nuts are my snack food of choice at the moment. Or bananas. I love bananas.
Coveting: Valentino Rockstud heels. I’ve been coveting these for a good year now, but spending that much on a pair of shoes isn’t going to happen anytime soon. (I’ll take a size 9 in the Poudre Patent if anyone is feeling generous!!)
Wishing: I could buy a winning lotto ticket!!
Helping: my husband with the gardening. Admittedly, I’m not particularly good at it!
Hearing: that plans are progressing for Ikea in Canberra makes me very happy! I love Ikea, my back account doesn’t love it so much though.
That’s my taking stock for October. If you’ve done a post taking stock this month make sure you link it in the comments so I can check it out.
What have you reading, watching, wanting and buying at the moment?
