It’s been a big week here at Number Five!! I got offered a job on Friday which I took and will start in the new year! I’m really excited and it will be an awesome opportunity (not to mention a great career move) but I love working for my current boss and I’m a bit sad to leave him. It’s at the same organisation so I’ll still see him around which is good.
I had a girls night on Monday while all our husbands went go-karting and we just had the most wonderful night. We had dinner at one of the girls houses and then had dessert at Max Brenner. It was amazing, but we were so full afterwards!! We also got treated to an awesome light show while we were having dessert as there was a huge storm at the time with lots of very cool lightning. It was so nice to hang out with my lovely friends and just chat about what’s been happening in our lives (which is a lot!!!) and it was a great refreshment to my soul.
I sent off my gift for #fmsgiftexchange this week. I’m so excited about this! It’s been lots of fun picking our a gift, I hope my giftee likes it. I’m also super excited for my own gift to come in the mail.
I made a surprise discovery yesterday – we have a cherry tree! We have a mini-orchard at our house, along the fence line, and we knew we had a kiwi fruit tree, an apple tree and a nectarine tree, but we weren’t sure what the last one was as it didm fruit last year (our first year in the house). I had a quick check of it today and it turns out, it’s a cherry tree!! I love cherries so I was super excited and I managed to pick about 40 from the tree. Yum!
I found this amazingly perfect rose from our garden. It’s so lovely being able to decorate our house with fresh flowers from the garden!
We started our annual Star Wars viewing yesterday with Episode IV. And yes, I’m wearing my Star Wars pyjamas!
We had huge storms yesterday and we live on a flood plain so it flooded! Our whole end of the street is covered in water and the creek a couple of streets back has burst it’s banks so we have lots of water in our yard! Our house is raised so the water just goes underneath instead of through the house. We could hear the dog splashing around underneath the house!! The water has started subsiding thankfully so it shouldn’t get much worse, but it was pretty amusing keeping an eye on the water levels yesterday and seeing the dog playing around in ankle deep water.
Hope you’ve had a great week!
