Can you believe that it’s the first weekend of the new year? I tend to get a bit quiet over the holidays with photo taking, especially the ones where we stay at home and do not much! So this is a very abridged week (fortnight!) in photos.
We had a Christmas dinner with some friends from church the Monday before Christmas and our friends made this amazing pavlova for dessert! It was seriously amazing. It’s a triple layered vanilla cream and berry pavlova and it was delicious.
I have a new addition to my cleaning arsenal! I finally got my hands on a Dyson Animal and I love it. It’s super convenient for vacuuming without having to get the big vacuum out and the suction on it is incredible. I’m loving having this in the house.
We have finally painted our spare rooms! This was partway through the first coat in the first room. If you’ve seen what colour these walls were before (you can see it here) you will be amazed to know that we managed to cover it up with no patchiness and no blue coming through in only two coats! I was so impressed with the paint we used. The colour was a long fought compromise between Stu and I and it’s actually turned out really nicely (even though it’s kind of hard to tell the colour from the image due to the light and shadows). It’s a really nice light cream colour and it looks really beautiful in the rooms now that they’re done. Hopefully I’ll have some finished rooms to show you before long.
I’ve been playing along with Interiors Addict #7vignettes for the first time, and it actually super fun. This was for ‘yellow’ earlier this week, featuring some gorgeous yellow lilies from our garden.
Hope you had a restful Christmas/New Year break (and even better if you get more time off!). I’m back to work tomorrow and back into the usual routine. I don’t think I’m quite ready to give up my holiday time yet though!!
