Reading blogs are a great way to take a little peek into someone else’s life. It’s a bit voyeuristic in a totally socially acceptable way! Today I’m joining up with some other lovely bloggers to share our ’10 on 10′ – 10 pictures on the 10th that tells the story of a day in our life. It’s a big linky loop of love so make sure you check out the link to the next blog at the bottom of my post and make your way around the loop to check out the 10 on 10 from my bloggy friends.
Okay, my 10 is technically across a weekend not a day because my life is just not that action filled (and workdays are boring!) and I spend a lot of my time laying down and resting at the moment!
We have had an amazing crop of apples this year (along with everyone else!) and they are just beautiful. We have a huge bag full of apples in our kitchen, we’re struggling to get through them. If I wasn’t so tired I’d be baking but I just don’t have the energy at the moment!
Speaking of apples! Chewie is loving all the apples. She picks up the one that fall off the tree, carries them around for a while and then eats them. On this morning she ate 5 of them and right now she has 3 sitting on her bed. She’s obsessed!
Baby things! We are really lucky to be getting a lot of second hand furniture (and other baby related products) from relatives including this gorgeous Boori sleigh crib. It’s been through 3 of my cousins kids already and it’s still in awesome condition. I did have to spend an hour of so cleaning it all as it had been in storage but its a small price to pay for a free crib!
I love a picnic dinner. We went to an outdoor Katie Noonan concert at the National Museum as part of the Enlighten Festival with some friends. It was lovely to sit on a picnic rug, have a picnic dinner and some drinks (non-alcoholic for me!) and listen to some wonderful music.
I love Katie Noonan – such a beautiful voice!
The next day I was craving some pancakes so I whipped up some to have with cream and berries. Yum!! (I cheated and used a shake and pour pancake mix, just in case you had any delusions about my domestic goddess status at the moment! Way too exhausted/lazy for making pancakes from scratch)
We (and by ‘we’ I mean my husband) gave our adorable puppy a bath in the wheelbarrow, it’s the easiest way to do it. She has gotten used to it now so is pretty good at just standing in the water while Stu soaps her up and rinses her off.
My parents dropped in and my dad replaced all the down lights in our dining and living rooms with these amazing super bright LED down lights. They look so much nicer than the old, standard ones and are super bright so they’re now all on a dimmer switch. The ones in the dining room were fairly straight forward but the holes in the living room ceiling were slightly too small for the new lights so my dad had to trace the right size onto the ceiling and then cut carefully around the hole with a hacksaw blade. I’m pretty lucky to have such a handy dad.
Our abundance of tomatoes meant I could make pasta sauce from scratch instead of using canned tomatoes! It added so much flavour and was really gratifying to make it myself with vegetables we had grown. I made spaghetti bolognese and this was the first time I have cooked since being pregnant. The smells have been too much for me until now. I have to say though, I was so exhausted just cooking this!! Like, needed to sit down for the rest of the night tired!
As much as it looks like we do a lot on our weekends, this is how we pretty much spend our days on the weekend. Stu playing PlayStation (Don Bradman Cricket is the game of the moment) and me laying on the couch reading or on my laptop, or laying on the couch and watching movies/tv shows.
Please make sure you check out the next awesome blogger in our little 10 on 10 link up of love (totally not what it’s called but I’m going with it) – Shannon over at my2morrows is awesome so you won’t be sorry.
