I love doing my makeup, but some days I just want a quick makeup look to help me look a little more polished (read: awake) for when I am heading to work. This is where my quick and easy five minute makeup routine comes into play!
I’ve been relying heavily on my quick makeup routine at the moment. I’m still exhausted with early pregnancy tiredness and I am so sleepy in the mornings it’s a struggle to get out of bed and get ready for work. My husband claims he has to wake me up about five times in the morning at the moment, but I have no recollection of that so it mustn’t be true!
To get this look you just need five minutes, it’s the perfect quick makeup to help you look a bit more ‘done’ and is quick enough to be done in a rush.
This is what you need for a simple and natural looking five minute makeup routine:
Base of choice (Liquid foundation/tinted moisturiser/BB cream) – I’ve just started using Maybelline’s Dream Wonder in 50 Creamy Natural and I am seriously in love!
Concealer – I’m loving this Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Honey
Lip/cheek tint – I love Benefit’s Benetint
Sheer powder – I love this Hourglass Ambient Light Palette because it still looks glowy without being cakey
Eyebrow pencil – I use Benefit’s Instant Brow Pencil in Medium
Eyelash curler – I am using one I picked up from Sephora at the moment
Mascara – I’m notoriously disloyal with my mascara, I love trying new ones. At the moment I’m using Loreal False Lash Telescopic in black
And this is how I put it all together to look a bit more pulled together in five quick minutes:
Minute 1 – Apply your base and blend well.
Minute 2 – Dot your concealer under your eyes and then blend well.
Minute 3 – Apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks (don’t forget to smile as you do it! Makes it so much easier) then lightly dust your powder over the top.
Minute 4 – Use the pencil of your eyebrow pencil to lightly fill in any sparse areas of your eyebrows (think feathery strokes) and then use the spoolie (the brush looking end) to even out the pencil and smooth your eyebrows. Use your eyelash curler to give your eyelashes a quick curl.
Minute 5 – Add mascara (liberally) to your eyelashes and to finish off add a bit of lip balm/gloss to your lips (which I forgot to add to my products picture!! I love Lanolips 101 Ointment in Peach).
And this is the before and after I put up on Instagram yesterday, just to prove what a difference five minutes of makeup can make!
There you have my easy, go-to weekday makeup you can get done in five minutes with minimal effort.
