I really wanted to go last year but I was 38 weeks pregnant with Grace (and suffering all the FOMO) so it wasn’t really an option. But this year I strapped on my freshly minted one year old and flew to the Gold Coast on my own to go.
I’m going to do a big post on my takeaways from the content of the sessions but I’m still kind of processing it all (and I am still so exhausted) so that will need to wait a little til it all sinks in a bit more.
In the meantime, I just wanted to share some of my random thoughts on what it was like for this first-time attendee with a baby in tow. …
I’ve done a couple of posts sharing some amazing free fonts before (here and here) and they are some of my most popular posts ever! It’s been a while since those posts so I thought I would bring you a new fonts I love post to show you some fonts you can use to pretty up your blog and graphics!
These are all free (although if you’re going to use them for any commercial purpose just double check the licence) and super easy to download and use….
Today I am at another Little Blog Big event, this time in Canberra, and I’m so excited to meet some other Canberra bloggers and get inspired by Carly (Smaggle) and Chrissy (Hair Romance) all over again.
I will post more about it next week, but I thought today I would share 15 websites and tools that are great for bloggers to make life just a little bit easier and more productive (some of which I am sure will be discussed today!)….
If you’re a blogger, chances are you’ve heard of the big ProBlogger conference (PBEVENT). You might have even been to one. This year’s event is happening in a few weeks and it was supposed to be my first ProBlogger experience.
Alas, I got pregnant and my due date is a mere 13 days after PBEVENT so I figured it was not the best time to be travelling, in a different state, or trying to do anything other than sitting on the couch and hope that the baby isn’t overdue.
So rather than be disappointed that I can’t be there (and meet all my blogging friends who are going, lucky devils), I have come up with some strategies for getting over my FOMO and still getting the most from PBEVENT without actually going.
If you’re also missing out, for whatever reason, then hopefully these strategies will help you get the most out of PBEVENT without actually being there….
Last month I put together a list of 14 of my favourite free script fonts and you guys just loved it so much, I thought I would find you some more fun, free fonts to check out!
These fonts are great for bloggers to pretty up your blogs and graphics and use something a little different to what everyone else is using.
I’ve got a bit of a mix between styles this time so you should be able to find a font you really love. I’ve got a few script/handwriting fonts (of course!), some caps, some brush stroke style and some distressed fonts for you to choose from. …
If you want some general tips on using Evernote, check out my post on 9 tips for using Evernote that I wrote last year.
If you’re not familiar with Evernote, it is basically a cloud-based note taking app. It syncs over wifi or a mobile network meaning that your notes are up to date even as you switch between devices. I use it on my laptop and desktop, my iPhone and my iPads.
Today I’m going to give you a bit of a rundown on how I use Evernote for my blogging, and then give you 5 Evernote tips for bloggers….
On Saturday I spent the day in Sydney with Carly from Smaggle and Christina from Hair Romance for their second Little Blog Big workshop. I’m still a bit devastated that I can’t make it to ProBlogger this year (I’ll be 38 weeks pregnant – didn’t really seem like the best idea!) but this went a long way to making up for it!!
It was such an awesome day, Carly and Chrissy are so wise and it was so great just listening to them talk and getting some insight into some tips and tricks from seasoned bloggers who have been doing this for years and made mistakes so that we don’t have to! It was also so lovely to meet some fellow bloggers for the first time in real life.
I came out of the day with a huge list of things to do and a load of inspiration so I thought I would share 3 things I took away from the day. I could probably write a post 10 times as long as this one about all the things I learnt and how amazing it was but I think 3 is a good number of lessons to share!
It’s Friday, which means it’s time to share some links that I’m loving this week to get your weekend reading started!
I am going to be taking the train to Sydney this afternoon to attend the Little Blog Big event this weekend being run by Carly from Smaggle and Christina from Hair Romance, so I thought I would do a blogging themed links I love in honour of my blogging focussed weekend!…
One the things I’ve been enjoying about blogging is making things look pretty. That sounds really superficial but I love that everyone has their own style for their blog and their own favourite design elements. It really adds a special touch to your blog or to your image to find that perfect font.
You’ll probably notice that I love script fonts. I just think they’re so pretty and fun! There are so many amazing fonts out there (for free!) to use in blog design and the graphics you can put together to support your blog posts, that I thought I would round up 14 of my favourite free script fonts.
I created a clickable photo grid on my categories landing page a few weeks ago and got a few questions on how I did it so I thought I would do a quick post on how to create a clickable photo grid like this one.
To start, create your images that you are going to use. I used WordSwag, but you can use something like PicMonkey or Canva. If you create it online choose the dimensions of the image as 150 x 150px this will give you the thumbnail size I’ve used here. If you want it slightly bigger, choose a larger canvas size….
